Trans Canada Trail Director to receive Peter Lougheed Award for Public Policy Leadership
Trans Canada Trail Board Member Ron Hicks will be honoured at a dinner hosted by the Public Policy Forum on September 22. This special event will celebrate the tremendous contributions of Western Canadians to public policy leadership.
The inaugural presentation of the Peter Lougheed Award for Public Policy Leadership will be presented to Ron, in honour of the work done in his former role as Deputy Minister of the Executive Council for the Government of Alberta. This prestigious new award will also be presented to Roger Gibbins, President and CEO of the Canada West Foundation; Martha Piper, former President of the University of British Columbia; and Clay Riddell, Founder and Chairman of Paramount Resources.
Trans Canada Trail President and CEO Deborah Apps said, “We are very fortunate to have Ron as a member of the Trans Canada Trail Board and we wish him sincere congratulations on this important recognition of his contributions to his province and to Canada.”
