The New Brunswick Trails Council has compiled a list of fun activities happening across the province on June 2nd. Check out the great options for celebrating trails in a community near you!
Moncton/Riverview/Dieppe
What: Community Walk/Run/Roll/Bike
When and where: June 2nd, 2012
Departure time is 10:00 a.m. at the following locations:
Moncton – Event Zone next to the old Fire Station on Assumption Blvd
Riverview –Riverfront Trail Playground close to the Gunningsville Bridge on Coverdale Road.
Dieppe – Place 1604 behind City Hall
The Riverview group will meet groups from Moncton and Dieppe at the Event Zone at approximately 10:30 a.m. to mark Trails Day with the K94.5 Roadrunner!

Nature Trust of New Brunswick
What: Trail clean up and hike
Where: Minister’s Face Nature Preserve on Long Island
When: June 2nd, 2012 – 10:00am to 4:00pm
Details: Participants are asked to meet at the Royal Kennebeccasis Yacht Club (1042 Millidge Ave., Saint John, NB, E2K 2P6). Please arrive at 9:30 as the boat will be leaving promptly at 10am. The boat will not return to land until 4:00pm, so please be prepared with water, lunch, bug spray and hiking boots.

Dobson Trail
What: Join the Dobson Trail Volunteer Crew on a hike from the Prosser Brook Road to Hayward Pinnacle (9km), the highest point in the South East Region
Where: Meet at the Byron Dobson Arena at 9:00 am for a ride to the trailhead. Transportation is being provided by the Town of Riverview.
When: June 2nd, 2012 – 10:00am to 4:00pm

Fredericton
What: Here we roll again! 3rd annual Wheels for Meals Bikeathon FUNdraiser with a choice of six and, new this year, an après cycle meetup at Isaac’s Way.
Where: Officers’ Square is Bikeathon central
When: June 2nd, 2012 – Check route information for start times. Varies from 9:30 a.m. for 50k+ to 1:30 pm for families with young children.
Details: Pledge sheets are provided for participating cyclists to seek monetary support from family and friends. The funds raised enable us to subsidize rising meal costs to ensure that healthy meals remain affordable for our many clients living on low, fixed incomes.
Thanks to the generous support of local businesses, there will be a silent auction, door prizes, and a special prize for the person who raises the highest amount in pledges. And once again, younger participants (and those who are feeling particularly creative) are invited to decorate their cycles for the Decorated Bike Parade.
