Thank you to the thousands of Canadians who, over the past 21 years, have supported the Trail through our inscription program - there are now more than 100,000 names inscribed on more than 80 Trail pavilions across the country.
The inscription program was closed in April 2012, and we no longer provide inscriptions. The existing inscriptions will remain on the Trail and the pavilions maintained. Visitors to the Trail will continue to enjoy stopping at the pavilions and seeing the names of all the Canadians who have a permanent legacy on the Trail. These iconic red-roofed structures are found in every province and territory and are an enduring reminder that the Trail truly is a gift from Canadians, for Canadians.
Now, with less than three years to go until 2017, we are focusing all efforts on bridging the remaining 6,500 km of Trail gaps to fully connect the Trail in time for the 150th anniversary of Confederation. This is an ambitious goal, but with your support, we know we can do it!
When you make a donation to mark a special event, honour of a friend or family member, or in memory of a loved one, you are helping to make this Canadian dream a reality. We will send a personalized card acknowledging your gift to you or someone that you designate.
