Day 1 of Bike Canada for Kidney

May 1, 2007 | 1 comment

Intrepid cyclists Justin McGee and David Watson are setting out from Victoria, BC today on a four-month cycling odyssey across Canada. Their goal is to raise awareness about kidney disease and money for the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

Amazingly, over $5000 has already been contributed to their cause. A fundraising event held on April 26th at the Communitea Café in Canmore, Alberta netted $3155. Future events include a yard sale on May 26th in the lads’ hometown of Harvey, New Brunswick.

Justin & David have an excellent website up & running with a journal of their trip and a donation link. It’s really easy to find what you’re looking for, so don’t be shy.

If you’re in the Victoria area today, please consider heading out to Beacon Hill Park on the Victoria Waterfront at 11:00 am to see the boys off.

  • Justin – the best of luck and no flat tires as you work your way across Canada. Found your website by accident as I was working my way through some Internet information on the TCT. Isn’t the Internet grand!
I’ll pass along your website to my daughter who is an avid bike rider along with her ‘significant other’.
Hope to be able to follow your journey
