New trail project for Vancouver Island

A $1.2 million project to connect the Galloping Goose Trail with Shawnigan Lake was recently announced. When completed, this portion of the Trans Canada Trail will allow people to hike, bike, roll, or otherwise travel under their own steam between downtown Victoria and Langford, up to Shawnigan Lake and beyond. The 24 kilometre route will be jointly funded by the government of British Columbia and the Capital and Cowichan Valley Regional Districts. Read more.
