This is a fantastic opportunity to join Trans Canada Trail! The Coordinator, Annual Giving is an important role within our Philanthropy team. You will support the coordination, implementation and execution of our annual fundraising programs with a particular focus on our monthly donor TrailKeeper program, along with other donor development activities required to achieve annual revenue objectives and the long-term growth of the Annual Fund.

This position is open only to residents of Canada, who are eligible to work in Canada.


Key responsibilities
  • Assists the Annual Giving team in the creative direction of all direct response and digital appeals, including coordinating with internal teams and vendors on the design, production, segmentation, data and execution of each campaign.
  • Contributes to the growth of Annual Giving through monthly donor acquisition and retention strategies for our TrailKeeper monthly donor program.
  • Coordinates and maintains offline and online welcome journeys for TrailKeepers, including the use of Marketing Cloud to deploy relevant messaging to each cohort of donors at various stages of their journeys and customized follow-up.
  • Assists in the coordination of consolidated tax receipts for monthly donors.
  • Coordinates the monthly giving recovery program through tracking and monitoring of internal processing to ensure accuracy and timely communication with donors through mail and email.
  • Ensures the accuracy of donor record information, including global action updates as required.
  • Liaises with TrailKeeper monthly donors to thank, steward and build relationships with them.
  • Responds to in-bound donor calls and emails and triages to appropriate team members.
  • Supports the development and implementation of all donor digital communications through platforms such as Salesforce and Marketing Cloud.
  • Pulls reports in Salesforce, including appeal performance and fund analysis reports.
  • Fulfils requests from Philanthropy colleagues for lists and reports.
  • Extracts and validates data for annual stewardship reports (Annual Report, Impact Report); leads the development of content for TrailKeeper monthly donor profiles for the Trail Talk newsletter, website and social media channels.
  • Supports the tracking and analysis of online donor pages.
  • Performs other job-related tasks as required.

Desired experience, knowledge, skills and qualifications
  • Strong project management and multi-tasking skills; able to effectively manage competing priorities and remain focused to meet tightly prescribed deadlines.
  • Demonstrated sound judgement and problem-solving skills; able to be proactive in identifying issues and opportunities.
  • High attention to detail and results oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; in both English and French an asset.
  • Highly personable, with a strong donor service orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a complex, changing, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Experience in Direct response/Digital marketing.
  • Proven ability to extract, read and understand large quantities of data.
  • Excellent computer skills, with high level of comfort in MS 365.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and/or other fundraising CRMs, such as Raiser’s Edge, and a desire to learn and work within new programs and online environments as needed.
  • Post-secondary education in Fundraising, Non-Profit Management.
  • 3+ years’ experience in fund development/annual giving.

We offer a compensation package that includes:

  • Hiring salary of $55,900 per year
