About the role

Position: Coordinator, Infrastructure and Signage
Position Type: Full-time/Permanent
Work Location: Remote from home in Canada (national office is based in Montreal)
Team: Trail Team
Reports to: National Manager, Infrastructure and Signage
Start Date: As soon as possible

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Trans Canada Trail! The Coordinator, Infrastructure and Signage is an important role within our Trail team to assist in the funding management of trail and signage projects throughout the national trail network. In addition, you will have responsibility for developing tree planting opportunities and planning. You will report to the National Manager, Infrastructure and Signage and will work closely with the entire Trans Canada Trail team to support the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning and Administration:

  • Support the Manager with the implementation of programs and annual plan deliverables
  • Collaborate with the Manager to develop applicable annual plans and budgets
  • Ensure success of the Trail Funding Program
  • Ensure the development of tree planting opportunities and planning
  • Provide administrative support

Project Coordination:

  • Promote programs and aid Trail groups with funding applications
  • Receive and review project applications, documentation and reports
  • Assess construction and signage projects, and provide an accurate analysis, overview and recommendation
  • Be proactive in fostering new projects for continual Trail improvement
  • Monitor the progress and ensure the management of projects, with special attention to schedule and budget
  • Maintain an accurate cash flow and meet deliverables
  • Provide recommendations on project implementation
  • Assist in the development of new projects and partnerships

Operator, Group, User, Partner and Stakeholder Relations:

  • Attend events and meetings, and conduct Trail visits, as required
  • Maintain strong, coordinated and positive relationships with project partners, local trail operators, provincial and territorial partners, stakeholders and the public
  • Provide TCT with information on issues affecting the Trail

Staff and Leadership:

  • Communicate and support other Trans Canada Trail teams and staff
  • Ensure Trans Canada Trail recognition is in place for all assigned projects
  • Participate in regular staff and Trail team meetings

 Other:

  • Perform other job-related tasks, as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong project management and multi-tasking skills; able to effectively manage competing priorities and remain focused to meet deadlines
  • Experience in trail design, construction methods, signage implementation; forestry knowledge
  • Demonstrated sound judgement and problem-solving skills; able to be proactive in identifying issues and opportunities
  • Close attention to detail and results oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly personable and able to build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, partners, stakeholders and other agencies
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects within tightly prescribed timelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a complex, changing, deadline-oriented environment
  • Excellent computer skills, with elevated level of comfort in MS Office Suite, CRMs, such as Salesforce, and a desire to learn and work within the latest programs and online environments, as needed
  • Flexible in establishing work hours

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary education preferred in Project Management in Construction, Landscaping, Signage, and/or Forestry
  • 2+ years’ experience
  • Experience working with GIS, Salesforce or other CRMs is an asset
  • Bilingual (English and French), spoken and written, are an asset

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

We offer a compensation package that includes:

  • Hiring salary range: $54,000-$56,000 per year, based on experience
  • Contributions to group RRSP

  • Generous paid vacation, holidays and sick leave
