How Manulife is Investing in Well-Being Across Canada
This season, with Manulife as the presenting sponsor of our #Blahs2Ahhhs winter wellness initiative, people across Canada were invited to spend time outside, reconnect with nature and benefits from moments of joy along the Trail, all year long — turning winter blahs into Ahhhs.
A shared vision for healthier lives
As our National Trails for Health Partner, Manulife is committed to helping Canadians live longer, healthier, better lives. Through the Manulife Longevity Institute, created to drive action that extends both healthspan and financial resilience, reflects that commitment. Its purpose — helping people live longer, healthier and more financially secure lives — aligns deeply with our mission to ensure everyone can access the physical, mental and social benefits of the Trail, from coast to coast to coast

Real-world impact through #Blahs2Ahhhs
Trans Canada Trail’s #Blahs2Ahhhs initiative, now in its sixth year, highlights how time outdoors can benefit our mental and physical health. Research shows that 92 per cent of trail users are motivated by supporting their mental health and relieving stress, and time outdoors can help to ease symptoms of depression and seasonal affective disorder. Trails play a key role in providing an affordable, accessible way to enjoy nature in our own communities.
“Through the Manulife Longevity Institute, we’re focused on helping Canadians live longer, healthier lives,” says Joanna Marcovici, Director, Community Investment, Manulife Canada. “Supporting #Blahs2Ahhhs is a natural extension of that mission — encouraging people to get outside and feel the benefits of nature this winter.”
Proving how getting outside is good for your inside
Throughout our winter wellness initiative, people across Canada showed how getting outside and enjoying nature, all season long, helped them to lift their mood and take
inspiration from Canada’s winter wonderland. Overall, Canada’s Ahhh Counter tallied 16,495 moments of joy along the Trail throughout this year’s #Blahs2Ahhhs initiative.
As part of the #Blahs2Ahhhhs contest, Manulife contributed a one-year Lite membership to NiaHealth — a digital health partner available through the Manulife Vitality Insurance program — included in the Everyday Essentials Kit.
At Trans Canada Trail, we are deeply grateful for partners like Manulife, who recognize trails as essential infrastructure for a healthier, more connected Canada.
