The Trans Canada Trail is the longest multi-use trail system in the world, and it is always growing. It reaches every province and territory, and connects all three of Canada’s coastlines.
• As of 2025, the Trans Canada Trail is 29,500 kilometres long.
• The Trail connects more than 900 municipalities.
• More than 80% of Canadians live within 30 minutes of the Trail.

About us
Trans Canada Trail is the organization that advocates for, stewards and champions Canada’s nationwide trail system, providing leadership and guidance, funding and resources, outreach and engagement. It is a registered charity that invests in areas of high need and potential, including trail infrastructure enhancement, improving trail accessibility, empowering the next generation of trail builders and leaders, and more.

Help us tell trail tales across Canada
We’re looking for passionate storytellers who can help us spread the word about Canada’s trails and natural wonders. Here are a few ways we’d love to work with you:
• Personal accounts of your experiences in nature: stories about connection to the outdoors, family adventures, tips and tricks, the impact of nature and trails on your health and well-being, and stories of hikes, bike rides, and exploring the Trans Canada Trail and the areas it connects to.
• Sustainable and regenerative tourism: best practices for travelers and visitors, and how trail tourism can not only encourage environmental conservation but also help engage with Indigenous communities and help promote reconciliation.
• Active transportation: pieces that examine how people use trails across Canada, from rugged treks to everyday commutes and everything in between.
• Tourist attractions and must-visits: from Signal Hill in Newfoundland and Labrador to Stanley Park in Vancouver and beyond, the Trail runs from coast to coast to coast – share your stories and recommendations of what to do and where to go, and how the Trail plays a role in tourism economies and benefits communities.

Upcoming campaigns
