She has held senior finance and operations positions with organizations including Halton Children’s Aid Society, Family and Children’s Services of Waterloo Region, McMaster University and, most recently, Nature United.

“Joining Trans Canada Trail provides a wonderful opportunity to help advance a mission for which I have a strong passion,” says Prouse. “I believe everyone benefits from the opportunity to experience nature and this is at the core of this organization’s mandate and values. So I am thrilled to be part of the team at Trans Canada Trail and I look forward to applying my skills and past experiences to help more people across the country connect with the outdoors.”

In her role as CAO, Prouse will lead and support key organizational functions that are essential to Trans Canada Trail’s day-to-day operations. This includes financial management and strategic planning, IT and information management, human resources, administrative leadership, and compliance, insurance and legal affairs.

“What stands out most about Juliette is not only her depth of expertise, but also her deep commitment to people and purpose,” says Mathieu Roy, Chief Executive Officer of Trans Canada Trail. “She has a proven ability to cultivate high-performing teams, champion a culture of collaboration and create systems that empower staff to do their best work. Having lived and worked internationally before making Canada her home, Juliette brings a global perspective and a deep appreciation for the landscapes and communities that our Trail connects.”

Originally from Cheshire, England, Prouse has lived and worked in the United Kingdom, Japan, and West Africa before becoming a Canadian citizen in 2001.

Inspired by Canada’s natural beauty, she developed a deep passion for the outdoors and now spends her free time hiking, mountain biking and skiing in the Canadian Rockies, where she lives in British Columbia — just steps from the Elk Valley Trail section of the Trans Canada Trail.
