Michelle Gordon brings a unique combination of financial expertise, industry adaptability and board experience, as well as a deep commitment to sustainability and stewardship, aligning with the Foundation’s core values and mission.

With a background as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and advisor for startup companies, Michelle has demonstrated an ability to contribute to the growth and success of various organizations. This experience is complemented by over a decade of board experience, making Michelle exceptionally well-equipped to support the longevity and success of the Trans Canada Trail Foundation.

Michelle holds both human resources and accounting designations, alongside an Executive MBA. She is also currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), demonstrating her dedication to continuous learning and professional development.

Throughout Michelle’s professional journey, a focus on sustainability and social impact has been a defining feature. As a CFO and strategic partner to CEOs, Michelle has leveraged an extensive skill set in business systems, accounting and HR to facilitate the efficient growth and success of companies.

Michelle’s adaptability and diverse expertise have been applied across a range of industries, including manufacturing, lumber, technology, finance, not-for-profit, government, First Nations, agriculture and sustainability sectors. This versatility underscores her ability to navigate complex business landscapes and contribute valuable insights and strategies.

Further demonstrating a commitment to effective governance, her board experience includes financial reporting to boards of publicly traded companies, ensuring transparency and accountability. Her involvement with not-for-profit boards and chairing audit and governance committees has honed skills in financial governance, interpretation of financial statements, and the development of governance manuals.

Michelle joined the Trans Canada Trail Foundation Board in 2024.
