Connect with nature at FortWhyte Alive
FortWhyte Alive, along the Winnipeg section of the Trans Canada Trail, offers hundreds of acres of prairie, wetlands, forests and lakes. Walk scenic boardwalks, watch birds from observation decks or explore interactive exhibits. If you’re lucky, you may even spot some of the resident bison herd!
Also at FortWhyte Alive, Bison Butte Recreational Trails / Maskode Bizhiki are ideal for two-wheeled fun. Originally built for the 2017 Canada Summer Games, and now features a network of multi-use trails with options for beginner and experienced cyclists. It’s a great place for kids to build confidence on two wheels while parents enjoy the scenery.

Gather at The Forks
The Forks is one of Canada’s most significant historic gathering places. The indoor market offers food and drink options for all tastes, shops for both kids and adults, seating areas and great vibes. Outside, visit the Forks National Historic Site, learn about the Indigenous and Métis history of the region, and walk along the water at the meeting of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers. Be sure to stop at the Trans Canada Trail pavilion at the Forks!
Just steps away, the Manitoba Children’s Museum offers plenty of opportunities to learn, play and create.

Play at Whittier Park, year-round
Cross the Red River along the beautiful Esplanade Riel and head to Whittier Park in Saint-Boniface, perfect for family walks and bike rides. In the winter, the annual Festival des Voyageur takes place in the park and is Western Canada’s largest winter festival.
