Wild Places, Wild Faces: Celebrating Five Years

Awe-inspiring nature photography and fundraiser in support of Trans Canada Trail

On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, participants enjoyed the fifth-annual Wild Places, Wild Faces: Celebrating 5 Years– an online photography presentation and fundraiser in support of Trans Canada Trail. Talented photographers and father-son duo Scott and Trevor Haldane presented their incredible photography, showcasing wildlife, landscapes and stories from across Canada. They took participants through their adventures in nature, both on and off the Trail.

We’re a father and son living on opposite ends of Canada. But this is a trail that literally connects us. And if you live in Canada, there’s a very good chance this trail is right near your house because it goes from coast to coast to coast through all of the territorial and provincial capitals, and it’s the longest trail in the world. So, we’re delighted to pair with the Trans Canada Trail again. Thank you for those of you who have donated!” says Trevor.

Supporting the Trans Canada Trail

By showcasing their beautiful photos in support of Trans Canada Trail, Scott and Trevor have raised thousands of dollars in support of the Trail. These funds are vital, helping to keep the Trans Canada Trail open and accessible for all.

In addition to an online photography presentation, Scott and Trevor made select prints of their work available for purchase.

Taking inspiration from the natural world

Scott and Trevor Haldane discovered a shared passion for amateur wildlife photography and wanted to inspire others to enjoy the beauty of the Canadian outdoors. Though they live on opposite sides of the country – Scott in Ontario and Trevor in British Columbia – the Wild Places, Wild Faces online presentation guides viewers through the incredible moments in nature Scott and Trevor have captured with their cameras, both on and off the Trans Canada Trail.

The father and son both love to spend time outside, exploring their rich natural surroundings. Nature photography is one of several great reasons for people to get out on the Trail and benefit from time spent in the great outdoors, meeting people along the way.
