Trail Accessibility Mapping Program

We were proud to continue our partnership with AccessNow, to increase accessibility on the Trail across Canada. Through the use of mapping technology, trail users with a variety of disabilities collected information about their experience on the Trail. This information is then made available via the Access Now app, allowing trails users of all abilities to make informed decisions before heading out to the Trans Canada Trail. The information collected also helps Trans Canada Trail identify areas where barriers can be removed and accessibility can be improved. This past year, 25 additional Trail sections were mapped, bringing the total number of Trail sections mapped since the program began in 2020 to 54.
