Contributing to a picture-perfect experience along the Frame Lake Trail

A cake with "Thank you Spring Clean-Up Trans Canada Trail" at the Trail Care Event: City of Yellowknife at Frame Lake Trail

On May 16, 2023, the City of Yellowknife held its annual spring clean-up event. Volunteers from AVENS, a Community for Seniors group, took part in cleaning up a 5-kilometre section of the Frame Lake Trail. Thanks to the Trail Care Grant, organizers installed a bench overlooking beautiful Frame Lake, giving residents and visitors a place to pause and take in the scenery along their route. Volunteers and community members came together to clean up the trail and enjoy a light meal!

Enhancing a popular route for walking and cycling

The Frame Lake Trail is a well-maintained, paved and gravel route that circles Frame Lake in the City of Yellowknife. It is frequently used by walkers, hikers and cyclists, providing a mix of urban and backcountry scenery.
