Supporting future trail stewards

Trans Canada Trail offers organizations across the country education resources and support for employment experiences to promote a vibrant trail sector and greater longevity in the trail workforce. Through education, hands-on training and work placements, the next generation of trail stewards will have the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to trails across Canada and strengthen the broader trail sector.

Trans Canada Trail provides a variety of services to support training and professional development across the trail sector, including: 

  • Employment subsidies for youth 
  • Training workshops, curriculum and instructors
  • Resources for career and education pathways in the trail sector

Funding

Trail Crew Training Fund

Financial support for training, and access to our Trail Crew Training curriculum. This initiative helps participants gain a variety of skills and experiences to confidently use trails, contribute to sustainable trail stewardship, build careers in the sector, and more. Designed to provide education through employment for youth between the ages of 15 and 30. To strengthen the trail sector and the longevity of the trail workforce, we encourage all employers to support youth who face barriers to employment in trails, for example Indigenous youth, new Canadians and youth who live in rural areas. Apply through the Trail Catalyst fund.
