Trans Canada Trail Welcomes Omid Kahriz as New CFO
Ottawa – Trans Canada Trail is pleased to announce the appointment of Omid Kahriz as the organization’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With an impressive background in nonprofit governance and financial management, Kahriz brings a wealth of experience to the role.
Prior to joining Trans Canada Trail, Kahriz was CEO at KND Consulting, a firm that specializes in advising nonprofit organizations on strategic and financial transformations. He also served as Executive Director of Corporate Services and CFO at Curling Canada, and held senior financial roles with the federal Department of National Defence and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
“The chance to help steward an iconic Canadian institution is inspiring,” said Kahriz. “It is a privilege to play a role in Trans Canada Trail’s next chapter, and I’m eager to leverage my experience to help the entire team achieve their ambitious goals.”

Trans Canada Trail also extends its heartfelt gratitude to Lori Spence, who served the organization as Chief Operating Officer for more than 15 years. Her experience and tenure with the organization were central to countless milestones, including the Trail’s cross-country connection in 2017.
Kahriz is based in Ottawa and is an avid cyclist who shares Trans Canada Trail’s dedication to promoting sustainability and community engagement.
