St. John’s, NL Trans Canada Trail Pavilion relocation ceremony

Some 60 people, including trail enthusiasts and retired railway workers, were on hand to take part in a museum opening and relocation ceremony for the Trans Canada Trail pavilion in St. John’s on June 12^th, 2009. The pavilion was relocated to the grounds of the Railway Coastal Museum which occupies the 1^st floor of the 104-year-old former CN train station on Water Street. Newfoundland T’Railway Council President Jamie Warren said the new site has a direct connection to the former railway line. Newfoundland’s portion of the national trail follows the 883-km route from St. John’s to Port aux Basques.
