Allison Leonard
Allison leads Trans Canada Trail’s communications, media and public relations efforts. With a background in journalism and global communications, Allison brings a unique mix of expertise in project leadership, media relations and digital publishing to the organization. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked as web lead at the Government of Nova Scotia, where she led a strategy to make critical information accessible to the public. Before joining government, Allison was managing editor at the Centre for International Governance Innovation, an award-winning think tank focused on the intersection of technology and democracy.
A recent transplant to the East Coast, Allison lives near the Rum Runners Trail, which connects Halifax to Nova Scotia’s South Shore. And as a former city commuter, she misses cycling to work on the Iron Horse Trail in Ontario’s Waterloo Region.
