Calie Schaefer
As Coordinator of Stakeholder Communications, Calie Schaefer assists with internal and external communications related to the Trans Canada Trail. She also maintains ongoing relationships with Trans Canada Trail stakeholders, including local trail groups, destination marketing organizations and all levels of government, to enhance the Trail’s profile and the visitor experience.
Calie brings a Master’s degree in Environment and Sustainability (Western University) along with experience in the sustainable forestry sector to her role. She also holds a degree in Criminology and Political Science from King’s University College.
A nature enthusiast, Calie loves being outdoors whenever possible. She lives near the Laurel Trail section of the Trans Canada Trail in Waterloo, and loves to hike or cycle there. Her favourite section of the Trail is the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail, which runs along the western coast of Cape Breton Island and offers fantastic ocean views, picturesque landscapes, and vibrant Celtic culture and music in the communities along the Trail.
