Lesley Johnson
Lesley Johnson brings unique skills and experience in the environmental and non-profit sectors to her role as Manager, Geographic Information Systems at Trans Canada Trail. One of Trans Canada Trail’s greatest assets is a comprehensive web map that provides detailed information about the Trail from coast to coast to coast. Lesley works with Trail partners and colleagues to maintain and expand on this robust, interactive map, which is available at tctrail.ca for anyone who wants to learn more about the Trail or plan their next visit. Fluently bilingual (English and French), she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, GIS and Remote Sensing from McGill University, and has worked at McGill on several GIS and Remote Sensing projects.
The Lake Superior Water Trail, close to Agawa Bay, where she spent childhood summers camping, is close to Lesley’s heart. Here, the Trail offers the opportunity to swim and paddle, two of her favourite summer pastimes. Near her home, the Parc Lafontaine section of the City of Montreal Trail is also important to Lesley, who uses it to commute and travel the city on her bike – in all four seasons.
