Ryan Thom
Ryan brings a background in ecology and geography, and a passion for the environment to his role as Coordinator, Extensions & Active Transportation. He supports the addition and connection of new sections to the Trans Canada Trail network, particularly as they relate to shared roadways, ensuring safe, accessible, active transportation corridors for Trail users. He is fluently bilingual (English and French), holds an Arts & Science degree from the University of Guelph and spent two summers doing field research with the Ontario Beekeepers’ Association.
An avid walker and lover of the outdoors, Ryan also enjoys a good cup of coffee and an absorbing science fiction or fantasy read (The Hobbit is one of his favourites). He lives near the Pan Am section of the Trans Canada Trail in Scarborough, Ontario. This multi-use hiking and cycling path, which offers nature experiences for city dwellers, is also his favourite section of the Trail.
