Linton Carter
Linton Carter brings over 25 years of leadership in philanthropy, donor engagement, and revenue generation to her role as Chief Development Officer at Trans Canada Trail. Before joining the organization, Linton was Chief Strategic Engagement Officer at UNICEF Canada, where she led national efforts to advance UNICEF’s strategic plan – Mobilizing Canada for Every Child. She also contributed to global fundraising innovation as a member of UNICEF’s Fundraising Strategy Group.
Linton’s career spans leadership roles at several of Canada’s top charities, including the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada, YMCA of Greater Toronto and SickKids Foundation. Her strategic vision and ability to cultivate meaningful relationships and impactful partnerships have consistently driven mission-aligned growth and long-term sustainability.
A passionate advocate for community engagement and environmental stewardship, Linton is dedicated to expanding the reach, sustainability and impact of Trans Canada Trail. She plays a critical role in expanding the organization’s philanthropy portfolio and driving financial support for its mission.
Linton is an active volunteer and has served on the boards of Bishop’s University Foundation and the Asperger’s Society of Ontario. She has also volunteered with Campfire Circle and Branksome Hall, reflecting her lifelong commitment to supporting diverse causes.
Based in Toronto, Linton enjoys walking with her family and dog along the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail. She also relishes exploring Canada’s varied landscapes, including hiking on B.C.’s Sea to Sky Trail.
