Planting for Tomorrow
Program

About the Planting for Tomorrow Program
The Planting for Tomorrow Program (PTP) provides funding for tree-planting, invasive species removal, seed collection and seed starting projects that contribute to nature-based solutions to improve ecosystems, enhance biodiversity and engage the local community in volunteerism and participation.
The goals:
- Increase tree cover in communities along or near the Trans Canada Trail
- Limit site preparation involved to undertake the project
- Increase forest resilience to climate change
- Contribute to increased biodiversity or ecological health of the Trans Canada Trail
- Engage community members with the Trans Canada Trail and the outdoors by involving them in enhancement projects
The program will remain open until funding for the year is fully allocated. Eligible sites can be located anywhere in Canada and do not need to be situated along the Trans Canada Trail.
