About the Planting for Tomorrow Program

The Planting for Tomorrow Program (PTP) provides funding for tree-planting, invasive species removal, seed collection and seed starting projects that contribute to nature-based solutions to improve ecosystems, enhance biodiversity and engage the local community in volunteerism and participation.

The goals:

  • Increase tree cover in communities along or near the Trans Canada Trail
  • Limit site preparation involved to undertake the project
  • Increase forest resilience to climate change
  • Contribute to increased biodiversity or ecological health of the Trans Canada Trail
  • Engage community members with the Trans Canada Trail and the outdoors by involving them in enhancement projects
