TCT’s Capital Improvement Plan is open for submissions!
We’re pleased to announce the launch of TCT’s The Great Trail Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for 2020-2021. TCT will accept applications on an ongoing basis throughout the year. No deadlines are in place.
With such a long and vast Trail, we know there will always be opportunities for continued improvement and enhancements. That’s where our CIP comes in! The CIP is run by Trans Canada Trail (TCT) and provides financial contributions to projects on The Great Trail of Canada.
1 The newly installed bridge at Hanson’s Creek, MB. 2 A resurfaced section of the Trail in Shaunavon, SK. 3 New interpretive signage along the Shearwater Flyer Trail, NS. 4 The installation of a bridge along the Trail between Irricana and Beiseker, AB. 5 New two-way bicycle lane in Downtown Victoria, BC, with a co-branded trail counter.
Important information for Applicants:
Prior to submitting an application, groups are required to contact Trans Canada Trail to discuss the proposed project. Groups should email firstname.lastname@example.org to express their interest. This initial discussion is required in order to be considered for funding.
A project must be ready for implementation, with all requirements in place, before an application is submitted.
All applications must be submitted using TCT’s online application form. If you are unable to complete the application form online, please let us know and we can identify a solution.
The application form has been modified to require more comprehensive information for more complex projects. Questions are adjusted based on responses, so applicants with simpler projects will complete a shorter application form.
In most cases, groups will be notified of funding decisions within three months of the submission date of a completed application. If an application is considered incomplete, this timeline may be longer.
