Position: Coordinator, Prospect Research
Position Type: Full-time
Team: Philanthropy 
Reports to: Director, Development (Major Gifts & Campaign) 
Start Date: March  2025
Location: Remote from home, resident in Canada 

The Coordinator, Prospect Research is a vital member of the Philanthropy team, responsible for supporting the success of major gift, corporate, Campaign and foundation fundraising activities. This role focuses on delivering high-quality prospect research and supporting the team in meeting campaign goals and tracking metrics.  

This position is open only to residents of Canada, who are eligible to work in Canada. 


Key responsibilities
  • Prospect Research: Conduct detailed research to create comprehensive profiles for major gift, corporate, and foundation prospects, providing insights to inform fundraising strategies and moves management activities. 
  • CRM Management: Track, update, and manage prospect and donor information in Salesforce, ensuring data accuracy and integrity to support campaign metric tracking. 
  • Campaign Support: Collaborate as a member of the Campaign team to provide administrative and research support to volunteer Cabinet members and philanthropy leadership. 
  • Analysis and Reporting: Compile and analyze data on prospect and donor engagement to provide actionable insights for the philanthropy team. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to align prospect research with overall campaign and fundraising strategies. 
  • Best Practices: Stay current on trends and best practices in prospect research and fundraising, applying innovative methods to improve processes and outcomes. 

Desired experience, knowledge, skills and qualifications
  • Experience: 
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a major gift fundraising environment or related field. 
    • Hands-on experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, such as Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or similar platforms. 
  • Research Skills: Strong digital research skills with the ability to gather, synthesize, and present information from diverse sources. 
  • Writing and Analytical Skills: Excellent written communication skills and the ability to produce concise, accurate, and actionable research profiles and reports. 
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to data accuracy and quality, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical research practices. 
  • Technical Proficiency: 
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, and other digital collaboration tools. 
    • Familiarity with database management, digital research tools and analytics is an asset.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, remote environment, contributing to shared goals and supporting colleagues.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. 

Compensation package

We offer a compensation package that includes:

  • Hiring salary of $58,000 per year
