Location: Remote from home, resident in Canada 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Trans Canada Trail! The Coordinator, Partnerships & Grants is an important role within our Philanthropy team to support the growth of the fundraising program. The Coordinator, Partnerships & Grants will be essential in securing new and renewing grants from corporations and foundations, while developing relationships with existing donors, and growing partner activation opportunities. You’ll be reporting to the Director, Corporate Partnerships and working closely with the entire Trans Canada Trail team to support the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. 

This position is open only to residents of Canada, who are eligible to work in Canada. 


Key responsibilities
  • Identify, craft and secure grants – through proposals and grant applications – for corporate and foundation major gift prospects
  • Grow the donor pipeline by identifying and researching corporate and foundation major gift donor prospect.
  • Work with the Communications & Marketing team to support the implementation and growth of partnerships, such as cause marketing partnerships
  • In collaboration with the Manager, Donor Relations, maintain corporate and foundation donor account records to ensure donor obligations are fulfilled to the highest standards
  • Collaborate with colleagues – primarily the Communications & Marketing and Trail teams – to manage projects and compile program impact information to inform grant application, cultivation and stewardship activities
  • Other tasks, as required

Desired experience, knowledge, skills and qualifications
  • 3+ years’ experience in partnership development or proposal writing in a similar field
  • Post-secondary education in environment, non-profit, partnership marketing or fundraising
  • Excellent knowledge of collaborative workplace platforms such as Microsoft Office 365 or Google Drive
  • Proven ability to create professional level proposals, grant applications and presentations for a variety of audiences
  • Strong proficiency in Salesforce, or other Donor Management/Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Ability to work well with deadlines, managing multi-stakeholder needs
  • Understanding of the environment, trail or outdoor recreation sectors and current philanthropic trends, notably corporate community investment
  • Ability to occasionally travel to in-person events and activities, such as trail events with partners
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (English and French), an asset

Compensation package

We offer a compensation package that includes:

  • Hiring salary of $58,000 per year
