Trans Canada Trail’s Trail Care Grant Program

About Trail Care
Each year, thousands of volunteers undertake projects to ensure that all users can safely access the benefits of outdoor recreation on the Trans Canada Trail. Our Trail Care grant program provides funding for projects to improve Trail sections, supporting the transition from one season to another.
Trail Care funds can be used for a wide range of activities:
Spring
Regular trail maintenance, small improvement projects on existing sections of the Trans Canada Trail, community cleanup events, and volunteer training.
Fall
Winterization activities, including trail grooming, snow clearing, community cleanup events, small equipment purchases or rentals, volunteer training and small improvement projects on existing sections of the Trans Canada Trail.
With our Trail Care Grant Program, we can ensure the Trail’s sustainability now – and for generations to come by
Seasonal preparedness
Nature is an unstoppable force, and each season brings unique challenges to those who use and maintain the Trans Canada Trail. Our Trail Care grant program helps direct resources where they’re required so that trail users can enjoy the Trans Canada Trail at any time of year.
Safety & accessibility
Our Trail Care grant program is one way in which we help communities keep the Trans Canada Trail safe and accessible for people to enjoy its superlative beauty from coast to coast to coast.
Connection with/support for local communities
The Trans Canada Trail is maintained and cared for by more than 500 trail groups and organizations across Canada. Our Trail Care grant program supports these groups and organizations, and their volunteers, to ensure an improved trail experience for all.
