Strategies for Success
The Strategies for Success were informed by research, environment scans and engagement with Board members, staff, partners, donors and volunteers, as well as an examination of the practices and programs of leading trail organizations around the world. These consultations led to the articulation of this new strategic direction, which will guide our activities in the coming years, to ensure the Trans Canada Trail continues to connect and highlight Canada’s diverse landscapes, seasons, people and experiences.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility Initiatives
Trans Canada Trail is committed to ensuring diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility within the organization and on the Trail. Trans Canada Trail works with partners and communities who typically face barriers to the trail sector to better understand their experiences, and to work to remove barriers, encourage trail use, and build capacity in the sector.
National Highlights
The past year has had its ups and downs due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The silver lining, though, is that the outdoors became a place to gather, relax, stay active, have fun and maintain a strong link with nature. We saw a major upswing in trail use, as people discovered (or rediscovered) the pleasure of the outdoors and enjoyed the many physical and mental benefits of being active outside. We’re maintaining our momentum, continuing to work alongside excellent partners, local trail groups and supporters to maintain the Trail and ensure it’s here for years to come.
Trail Projects
The Power of Partnerships
Partnerships are at the heart of Trans Canada Trail. From coast to coast to coast, thousands of users and communities benefit from the investments made by our generous partners. They play a vital role in supporting the world’s longest network of recreational trails. From sponsored activities to initiatives with retailers where purchases result in donations and financial contributions to the Trail, to inkind support, we are truly grateful. Thank you for your essential support!
Donors Make a Difference
Our achievements this year wouldn’t be possible without our many supporters. Trans Canada Trail is grateful for their contributions.
